Coyote’s last seven days of life jolted my soul. Simply, his words, though low and slow, were so profound that nothing will ever convince me that he didn’t have one foot here and the other in Heaven. No, it was not his pain medication. Up to the end, he insisted taking a low dose of a relatively low-powered drug because he did not want his mind and words distorted. Being a former newspaper reporter and now author, I took notes of everything he said, words that flow together into a message I will share once the stress ebbs and my strength and ability to sleep return – which brings me to the reason for this link to CaringWise.com.
It is a website founded by my friend Trevania Dudley Henderson and designed as a highly functional and helpful online “best friend” for those of us who find ourselves in the role of tending to our ill or elderly loved ones when they need us most. My personal posts about life while caring for my elderly mother – Coyote’s self- proclaimed “kinda” mother-in-law – can be found on the tab “A Caregiver’s Life.”
